Sean Cronin
Sean Cronin is a product of the Irish Rugby development pathway; having represented Ireland at schools, U19, U20 and "A" level. Sean completed this progression by achieving his first senior international cap against Fiji in 2009. Game time in the 2010 Six Nations and summer tour to NZ & Australia soon followed.
Sean Cronin's set peice foundations are very strong, his precision at lineout time is complimented with a ferocious appetite for scrummaging. A destructive ball carrier, with searing pace, his trademark bullocking runs are a handfull for opposition defences. An efficient mauler of the ball, his work at the breakdown is backrow- like in execution.
Sean Cronin left the Munster academy and his beloved club Shannon, with whom he won an AIL league and Cup double, at the end of the 2007/08 season, signing with Connacht in search of playing time at the next level. Sean quickly established himself as Connacht's first choice hooker and this platform certainly accelerated his progression to senior international honours.
To further his international ambitions Sean Cronin made the move to Heineken Cup champions Leinster Rugby in 2011. |
