Pedrie Wannenburg
Pedrie Wannenburg is a big, versatile, ball carrying back-row forward, who is also able to deputise in the second-row. Wannenburg made his debut for the Blue Bulls against the Golden Lions in 2001, stepping up to Super 12 level in 2002.
Since Pedrie Wannenburg's debut for the Blue Bulls he has been a mainstay in one of the most dominant forward packs in world rugby for close to a decade. Testament to his form and durabilty, Pedrie played 100 consecutive Super Rugby games for the Blue Bulls amassing a total of 105 Super Rugby caps.
Pedrie Wannenburg's introduction to Super Rugby immediately brought him to the attention of the national selectors, resulting in his Test debut against France at the Stade Velodrome in November 2002.
A former South Africa Schools international and U21 representative, since his springboks debut Pedrie Wannenburg had been a regular Springboks squad member until 2007. In the colours of the Bulls, Wannenburg has won a number of Currie Cup titles and two Super 14 titles, starting the 2007 final at blindside.
Pedrie Wannenburg joined Ulster Rugby at the start of the 2010/11 season where he has taken his top class rugby caps over the 200 mark. |
