John Muldoon's undoubted ability was recognised in the form of selection for Ireland's 2009 Summer tour of North America where he acheived his first cap against Canada. His leadership ability was also recognised by Irish management as John was installed as captain of Ireland A's 2009 Churchill Cup campaign.
John Muldoon's standout performances for Connacht in season 2009/10 resulted in his selection for Ireland vs New Zealand on Ireland's 2010 summer tour.
