His speed of service and accuracy of pass are key features in his game. An aggressive defender, Ian combines this skill with his organisational abilities at the breakdown. A natural kicker of the ball, Ian's mastery of this skill has manifested itself in a vast array of tactical kicks. Ian's goalkicking ability is just as developed and he was the designated goalkicker for his Irish U20 team landing a memorable last minute penalty to win the match against Italy at the IRB Junior World Championships.
