Accomplished at restarts, kicking out of hand and an extremely accurate goal kicker, his natural left foot provides further tactical kicking options.
A player with instinctive footballing ability, his non-drinking lifestyle and mischievous nature make him a popular squad member. After a successful period of development at the Tigers, Ian decided to return to his native Ulster in 2008 to further his Irish ambitions.
