A product of Tralee Rugby Football Club where Danny represented Munster at youth level after which he moved into the Provincial Academy. After one year in the Academy Danny's potential was soon recognised and he quickly secured a full-contract.
Danny is an athlete with tremendous physical development. A real attacking weapon, his pace and footballing ability have seen him switch comfortably between centre and wing throughout his career. A natural 13, his attacking mindset and preference to take the ball flat to the line combined with his arsenal of evasive skills and equally impressive passing skills make Danny a real threat to opposition defences.
During the second half of the 2010-2011 season Danny managed to secure a regular starting position in the centre of the Munster backline where his defence and attacking flair flourished helping the province to secure the Magners League title, winning a thrilling final against Leinster at Thomond Park.
